Here's a hard-to-find hay trolley: the Ney "King" model, patent date of Apr 5 1887 as shown in the photos. This is a "timber runner" meant to run along a 4x4 timber instead of iron rails as the later models do.
This elegant survivor was completely disassembled, cleaned, and restored. All parts move and function as they should (see "condition description" above for more details).
During the cleaning and restoration process we chose to retain a natural steel patina with traces of light corrosion. The patina was treated with our proprietary blend of preservatives to maintain its appearance. This trolley is nicely sized for display or light-fixture conversion, weighing 19.4 pounds and measuring 17" wide and 15.5" tall. In the photos we rotated the trolley to show all sides; the shown wood beam rail does not come with it. Note that one of the four wheels that ride the wood beam is slightly "cock-eyed" to the other three wheels -- it certainly could be bent back into its exact alignment, but we'll leave that to you. To the lower 48 states.
Refurbished to the highest standards. We carefully disassemble each fixture down to the smallest screw, then refurbish each part. Threaded surfaces are "chased" with taps and dies, and lubricants applied sparingly where needed. We keep the fixtures fully original, only replacing parts when corrosion, functionality, or safety concerns dictate a new part. Restored and preserved to retain their natural and intrinsic vintage look. We don't "wring the romance" from fixtures by excessively removing all traces of patina or applying new paint. Instead, metal surfaces are cleaned lightly but completely while preserving the natural patina gained over decades. The parts are then treated to retain the patina and prevent future corrosion. Tested and guaranteed to work perfectly. Before any fixture leaves our workshop it is tested to ensure it works properly.Any condition issues are clearly shown and explained. Please check our flawless feedback. That's because we use plenty of quality packing materials, and know through years of experience how to pack.
