Superb Antique vintage Steiff bear Rare 1930's silk plush
This is an amazing and much sought-after STEIFF bear, from the pre-war era, silk plush with dark-brown glass eyes, pre-war era-button, long stretched F, circa1930. Now these bears are increasingly Rare and hard to find in such good condition for size and age. He has wonderful elongated body with very long tapering hand paws, original glass eyes. Original nose, mouth, claw stitching. There is almost no signs of wear to his coat which is very unusual for silk plush bears.
But it has become sightly discoloured with a yellowish tone. Pads are made from felt.
They have been patched and stitched over the years. This wonderful bear is really good for age with wear being mostly on his pads which could be easily recovered to add to his beauty. Rare sought after and highly collectable in such exceptional condition. A very nice addition to every collection.Condition : Please examine the photos carefully. There are no hidden flaws. However this is not a new bear and aging should be expected.
