This is a stunning and very rare 1960 fold out home bar designed by the iconic mid century Danish furniture designer Erik Buch for Dyrlund. Finished in beautifully coloured, richly grained teak wood, this is a much sought after and far rarer model than its alternative wood finish counterparts. Brilliantly designed, the whole piece nestles quietly, securely folded away. Turn the key and the whole cabinet opens up to reveal a fabulous, secret cocktail bar, complete with fold out bar tops, drop down storage shelves and original chrome ice bucket.
The brilliant red and white melamine doors and sleek shinning black fold out bar tops not only scream stunning 1960s style, but they are also wonderfully practical, as any unwanted spillages, should anyone have a few too many cocktails, can easily and effortlessly be wiped up. Everything is finished to the highest quality, as one expects from such exceptional mid century Danish design, including beautiful inset brass hinges and elegant polished chrome pull out bar rests. The whole piece is in excellent condition, with only a few minor dints around the lock, presumably from years of eager use! And all marks are commensurate with age.Folded shut the bar measures 116cm high X 49cm deep X 90cm long (plus depth of the handles) and opens up to almost twice its length. This is an absolutely stunning and exceptionally rare piece of iconic mid century Danish design that would look stunning in any home, and most importantly, be the heart of many a fabulous party!
