Rare Vintage Antique Wooden Abacus School Counting Math Swallow Birds On Wires
This is an extremely Rare Vintage Wooden Abacus featuring wooden swallow tail birds on wires instead of the usual beads. It's been on display in my home for twenty years now, I do not know it's history or where it originates from but it's always put a smile on visitors faces and been remarked upon. NB two of the birds must have fallen off/worn through and have at some point been replaced with homemade wooden replicas (as shown in final photo) this only adds to its charm knowing it was well loved and used to do maths so long ago.
