SOLID GOLD VERTEX REVUE WATCHES IN THIS ORIGINAL CONDITION FITTED WITH ITS 17 JEWEL CAL 77 MOVEMENT DO NOT COME AROUND VERY OFTEN WITH NICE DIALS. A WATCH FOR THE COLLECTOR. THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL C1961 ABSOLUTELY LOVELY SOLID 9 CARAT GOLD GENUINE VERTEX REVUE MANS WATCH IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION WITH A STUNNING DIAL. This is a stunning, and beautiful solid 9 carat GOLD two piece ROUND snap back watch case.
The inside rear of the case is hall marked for solid 9 carat gold, and has the assay mark for BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND dating the watch to 1960. The inside of the case is FULLY signed by AL DENNISON. The case is in lovely condition showing no major wear apart from some light marks from light use. There are NO dings anywhere to the case.
It has a personalization to the back for long service. The back also has a couple of places which look to be covered with a glue like substance. The case is shining with a beautiful golden luster after a gentle polish. The case measures 3.0cms (30mm) In diameter, excluding the crown and its solid solid 9 carat gold extended lugs. This is a stunning and beautiful QUALITY solid gold genuine VERTEX REVUE watch case.MINTY white FULLY signed VERTEX dial. It shows some light marks here and there especially at 5-6 o'clock (Photos don't show them up as much as I would like) but it definitely does not show its circa 63 years of age The dial is fully signed "VERTEX" in black painted lettering. The numerals are Arabic and are in good condition. The original hands are gold and are in good condition with some light oxidisation. This is a GORGEOUS dial in excellent condition.
The crystal is brand new and as such is in excellent condition. This is a beautiful, fantastic absolutely genuine RARE VERTEX REVUE calibre 59 FULLY SIGNED HI GRADE 15 jewel manual wind movement.
Vertex were at the top of their game at this time and this 17 jeweled quality movement is in excellent condition. The movement is FULLY signed on the top plate, showing its true VERTEX REVUE roots.
The watch winds super smoothly and sets with ease. This beautiful quality VERTEX movement has been oiled and timed by my watchmaker and is running great and keeping good time to within 1 min per day as tested over a 24 hour period. The crown seems genuine to the watch and is unsigned showing light wear. I have had this gorgeous watch fitted with a brand new high quality stitched black leather 16mm band. It has never been worn and is in perfect condition.
This watch and band measure just under 9 inches in total length. Please remember that vintage watches have survived for many decades by being treated well. Vintage watches are not for wearing while doing yard work, working out, or swimming. Vintage watches cannot keep time like their quartz cousins and will need altering on average between +-2 to +-5 mins per day. They are a little more destructible than modern watches.
Vintage watches also require periodic service and cleaning. Every couple of years, they would like their 20,000 mile checkup, oil change, and general service. By taking care of your vintage watch, you will have years of great service, and a quality heirloom to pass to another generation.
