Antique Vintage Original Rare Italian Gustavo Simoni Watercolour Figure Painting
Wonderful depiction of a man of swagger'The Sentinel', signed and inscribed ROMA and dated 1873. The painting was recently acquired from a townhouse in London from the residence of a lady of title. The watercolour is housed inside its original gold frame which has age and some crackling and chips to the front and side. Height 61cm, Width 50cm, Depth 4cm. He is best known for his Orientalist scenes but was also famous for creating scenes of genre and historical moments from ancient Rome.
