We are not sure about this information, nor how the dealer came up with the details, he must've had his reasons to write it. Without it, our opinion would've been that this was an earlier, pre-war coin bank, possibly made by Gray Iron Casting Co, in Mt. We found information online that such a bank is documented in "The Penny Bank Book" by Andy Moore as item number 365. However, we have not seen the book.
Anyway a RARE and interesting find that deserves additional. Please don't get confused with the new replicas that are available around, it is definitely an old one.4 1/8" tall x 2.75" x 2 overall. No chips or cracks to metal, the screw is secure and there is no movement within the bank.
Some surface oxidation, consistent with age and use. Take a look at the other items we have for sale now. Our items are described with the best of our knowledge and ability. We will be glad to answer all of your questions and provide additional photos and/or information.
